Entering the human lungs through the respiratory tract, the paint particles deposit on the surface and poison the body from within. The consequences of this poisoning can last for a long time and manifest themselves in more serious forms. They often require immediate medical intervention as they can cause respiratory illness.

What gets into the body with paint?
- Isocyanates.
- Benzene.
- Toluene and xylene.
- Carbon disulphide.

When these substances enter the body, there is a lack of oxygen. As a result, the function of the internal organs is disturbed: liver dysfunction, cardiac arrhythmias and gastric arrest. Particularly critical is the lack of oxygen to the central nervous system. The mental disorders associated with hypoxia are most evident in acute poisoning with toxic substances: the
- Spatial disorientation.
- Photophobia.
- Dullness of the charismatic organs and loss of taste.
- Loss of sensory time ;
- Hallucinations.
- Panic attacks.

The mental manifestations of poisoning are followed by physical manifestations that cause severe unbearable pain and can last for some time after assistance has been offered to the victim. The most common manifestations are.
- Dizziness.
- Abrasion of the blood.
- Vomiting.
- Pain in joints and soft tissues.
- Tachycardia.

Types of paint respirator
To avoid all the unpleasant consequences of paint work, you can observe the safety rules. You must wear a gas mask before you can paint a car, even if the work ahead is not important. For 5 minutes, spray the paint indoors with a fine enough coating to poison your body. It is important to choose the best respirator taking into account the size of the face and to advise on the potential load on the respirator filter element.

There are two types of safety respirator that are conditionally shared.
- Filtration.
- Insulated.

The full respirator mask works based on the formation and retention of an air cushion. The mask has an internal filter that retains and absorbs air. After clearing the flow it enters the respiratory tract. Usually, a cotton lint layer or a carbon respirator cartridge act as a filter. The carbon filter is a reliable absorber and can trap a small percentage of paint as well as debris in the air. However, such filters are powerless against chemical fumes, especially isocyanates. This is released when the paint is dried, kneaded or coated with a fixative. For this situation, insulated respirators are provided. The main difference of this personal protective equipment is that it protects the respiratory tract from the external environment. The respirator must be purchased before painting. Its quality depends on the price. The latter is due to the characteristics of the production. All protection is labelled and this determines the ability of the mask to protect the respiratory tract from more harmful vapours and toxins. The marking and its interpretation should be indicated in the accompanying certificate of authenticity.

It is therefore important to know exactly the working range and possible toxicity of the coated vehicle in order to select the right respirator. The full face mask can be used once or several times. If you use the reusable option, the filter will need to be changed after each use. The inside should be disinfected frequently before use and moisture should be removed regularly during operation. The classified protective devices are of simple construction and are divided into several groups: half-mask respirators; the whole face; the whole person for forced oxygen supply; and the whole face using a special respirator capable of maintaining high pressure.
